Unlocks the elements in the overlap. The IL may release the overlap in the following situations: <ul> <li>When the approaching train <i>has plausibly stopped</i> before the exit signal. In this case, the overlap release is delayed by a given duration: the timer is triggered when the train occupies or vacates a given section.</li> <li>When the approaching train <i>positively confirms to have stopped</i> (e.g. by means of an ETCS position report). In this case, the release is immediate or with a short delay.</li> </ul>
