Sign

A signal with a passive aspect, not controlled by the signalling system. A sign (or board) sends a permanent message to the driver. Its message and physical appearance (shape, colour, patterns) are normalised. Note: A sign can carry a lamp showing one single aspect, and the interlocking can only read the status of the lamp (e.g. a sign with a lamp marking the end of the track).
