Physically-based Hazard Modelling
consists of
Use process-based models for assessing the spatio-temporal distribution and evolution of hazardous events in order to construct hazard scenarios and maps that are important for risk analysis.Detect sources of uncertainty and assess their effect on modelling results. Interpret model outcomes to define hazard posed by process.Describe the scientific and engineering principles that underlie natural hazards, including the factors affecting the initiation, the spatio-temporal evolution, and hazard interactions.Understand and describe sources of model uncertainty. Calibrate and validate process-based models for natural hazards.Select a model for the simulation of a specific process, summarize the modelling principles and assumptions, and recognize limitations.
