Introduction

The following dashboard is designed to demonstrate the queries that answer the competency questions to validate the ontology and linked data sources for people and departments within the University of Twente (UT). Concretely, this data source is made up of 6 different datasets from across the UT, including:

• UT departments and sections associated with particular buildings from peoplepagesopenapi
• Areas of expertise for each employee based on their HTML profile pages, for example
• Building names and addresses in excel format,
• Building coordinates from buildings API
• Building occupancy based on the CampusCrowd Map

The underlying ontology which supports the linking of these data sources can be explored as a live graphical representation here.

The following SPARQL queries serve to show the results for the competency questions regarding UT people and their expertise, organisations (departments and sections), buildings and their occupancy. The underlying question being answered and the exact content of each query is defined below. First the competency questions regarding buildings are answered. Secondly, the competency questions about persons are answered. Lastly, the competency questions about organisations are answered.
